There are three ways to protect a mark in our territories, and they are often combined.
- A national Romanian registration at OSIM — useful where protection is needed only in Romania, or to anchor a Madrid designation.
- A unitary EU registration at the EUIPO — one right across all 27 member states.
- An international registration under the Madrid Protocol, designating Romania and/or the EU.
The unitary EUTM is efficient, but a single earlier right anywhere in the Union can block it — so clearance matters. We assess the client's footprint and recommend the combination that fits. See trade marks.
